Submittal Assistance Advice

All our OfficeOnWeb clients with design services receive announcement serves as a part of the web page design. If they have a maintained and improved site, the continuous web monitoring, search and listing announcement refresh service for their site is free of additional cost. Additional promotion, marketing, and advertising services are available. However, some businesses are more comfortable adding promotion through their own efforts or have selected a non-managed type service. To assist, the following services are recommended by OfficeOnWeb Technologies.

When announcing a site, patience is a real virtue. Some hints:

1. Don't announce until the site is really the way you think it really should be presented. (The first "touch" is crucial. Make sure it is a good one.)
2. Make sure at least two "meta" tags are included and pay close attention to them. (If you get your pages generated by OfficeOnWeb, they will have them.)
   • Generate about ten or the most important keywords that describe content. Add 15 more to that list. Install a meta tag for it.
   • Generate a 25 word or less description that catches the eye. Install a meta tag for it.
   • Remember that keywords and description you select are how many of your customers will find you. (Ask yourself how you look for similar sites. Try it and see what the keywords were that were involved.)
3. Don't announce to search sites that use crawlers (webcrawler, hotbot, etc.). They already know about OfficeOnWeb and will find you when they do their periodic search. Announcing again may actually remove you from the search operation.
4. Be patient. It takes less than a minute for the site to actually be "touched" when you announce. It takes more than a week for the "touch" to propagate through the search site database.

Registration Assistance Sites
(Fully automatic registrations are counterproductive. None of these sites use fully automatic registration)

	Add Me is the one of the most commonly used services for multiple announcements. It is a little easier to use than many. Still need to know how browsers work, and follow their instructions carefully. Don't submit to the same groups twice or you actually may lose the entire listing on that service.
	A top quality business directory with one of the nicer business registration services. Highly recommended. Search it for your needs and register your business with them.
	Submit-it is one of the most commonly used service for multiple announcements. They use an engine for the paid submittals. A hint here. Know how browsers work, and follow their instructions carefully. Once your base submit data is generated, print the results so you can remember the details. Use only after you have completed the steps shown in the hints section above.
	WebPromote has a lot of good advise on web advertising. They also offer many free services that you may find helpful.
	Postmaster 2 is an announcement service using e-mail to people subscribed to their serice. They also have other services.
InfoHighway	Searches for businesses and allows registration of your business on their directory.
Web Promotion	Add Masters is another announcement service that allows you to submit to thirty engines free of charge.
AdCentral Adspace Registry	An advertising service.
Web Promoters Resource Center	The name says it all.
InfoSpace	An excellent business directory and all around resource. Recommended for informational resource reasons if nothing else.
	Located in Canada, this is a good business directory service with some excellent links.
